My favorite dining spots near the yurt

Beaver Bay

Cove Point Crossings:  Soups, Salads, Pizza, Sandwiches. Nice casual restaurant run by Cove Point Lodge. 

Tracks N Racks: Pizza and burgers.  Casual bar food. 

Two One Eight: Sandwiches, lattes, cappuccinos, ice cream, specialty cakes. 

Silver Bay- 5 minutes north of the yurt

Northwoods Family Grille: Soups, Salads, Pizza, Sandwiches, BBQ.  Delicious casual dining.  

Zoe’s Pizza Kitchen: Pizza, calzones, soft serve ice cream. 

Zups Grocery Store and Deli: Basic “grab and go” food.  

Timber Coffee Company: Coffee drinks, sandwiches, awesome house made bakery treats

Finland- 15 minutes northwest of the yurt

Four Seasons Supper Club: Casual supper club featuring steak, walleye, pizza. 

Our Place: Nice, hearty breakfasts, soup, salads, burgers and sandwiches for lunch. 

Half way between Two Harbors and Beaver Bay- About 15 minutes south of the yurt

Rustic Inn Cafe: Delicious fresh food and the pies are amazing!  Expect to wait for a table. 

Grand Superior Grille (in Grand Superior Lodge Resort): Fine dining.  Make a reservation by stopping at the front desk. Certain times of year they have limited dining for non-resort guests. 

Two Harbors- 30 minutes south of the yurt.  Lots of choices, here are some highlights

Vanilla Bean: Amazing breakfast.  Soup and Sandwiches for lunch.  Specialty coffee. 

Madeira Bistro: Delicious soups, sandwiches and bowls

Cedar Coffee Company: The little coffee shop in the woods!  Specialty drinks, sandwich and pastries

The Tipsy Mosquito Wine and Spirit Room: Pizza, appetizers, wine and cocktails

Favorites “Up North” 

Cascade Restaurant and Pub: North of Lutsen (45 minutes north of the yurt):  Really great restaurant, good quality with a variety of food options. 

The Fisherman’s Daughter: Grand Marais (1 hour north of the yurt): Smoked fish, soups and sandwiches

Angry Trout Cafe: Grand Marais (1 hour north of the yurt): Variety of thoughtfully prepared meals, desserts and cocktails

Naniboujou Lodge: Northern edge of Grand Marais (70 minutes north of the yurt): This historic lodge often serves breakfast and dinners in their incredible dining room.  Check their website for availability.  It is a sight to see if you can get a reservation.
